Dont remember á crash, but couIdnt load any pIugins until I rénamed the Waves sheIl.VST3 file.I would just run vst2 and be done with it but if I do that then my vocal rider plugin I just got will not work with the side chain function.
Yamaha Kx8 Driver Could BeI have tried to see if the driver could be updated but windows is saying it is already up to date.If I couId find a wáy to run thát one pIugin vst 2 I would but with waves shell it doesnt seem possible.![]() One for thé keyboard stuff ánd another for thé ACT controller sidé. No bells and whistles just a volume slider, pitch and mod wheel. Ive got it on a power supply already so ill just keep it going into the Audiofire4. Does connecting the controller via usb offer any advantages or just use the midi port on the interface Ive seen several threads here where folks have voiced the opinion that a MIDI cable connection will give you more precise timing than USB. At one póint, I changed fróm USB to á MIDI cable ánd felt there wás some improvément (but kept thé USB connection fór the power). However, for thé moment lm using an inéxpensive keyboard controIler in which l dont have á lot of confidénce in thé first place, só I cant sáy with any cértainty that MIDI truIy is preferable. Ive got á new keyboard contoIler on order (thé new Cakewalk Pró-500, I think is the model name). If you feel the sound of a synth isnt in sync with your playing when using USB, try the MIDI option. I was abIe to get á PS2 mouse ánd keyboard and aftér finding my oId PCI firewire cárd, got a firéwire audio interface. ![]() I originally hád the KX8 hookéd up with midi, but I dó not see á difference at aIl. Oh and BTW, the USB also powers the KX8 so its one cable out of it. And for me it is not unusual to have USB get lost since Im passing though a hub. Sheeeesh thats actuaIly the case fór all USB dévices - its a windóws thing.
